Kelek Skindiver Chronograph landeron 248

A rare and highly attractive Kelek Divers Chronograph from the 1960s/early 1970s, fitted with the renowned Landeron 248 hand-wound chronograph movement.

Kelek was a Swiss manufacturer particularly known for its chronographs, and its vintage diving chronographs are increasingly sought after for their distinctive combination of sporty diver styling and traditional Swiss mechanical chronograph technology.

This example features the original black dial with its original hands and crown, all exceptionally well preserved. The original acrylic crystal is still fitted as well. The stainless-steel waterproof case measures approximately 37 mm in diameter and 47 mm lug-to-lug, giving the watch excellent proportions and a very strong presence on the wrist.

The case was originally rated to 20 ATM, an impressive specification for a mechanical chronograph of this period. The watch retains the characteristic rotating diving bezel and robust stainless-steel construction typical of the Kelek Divers Chronograph.

Inside is the highly regarded Landeron 248, a manual-winding 17-jewel chronograph calibre widely used by Swiss manufacturers during this period. The movement features a two-register chronograph layout with central chronograph seconds, a 30-minute counter and running seconds.

The watch is in remarkably good original condition. The original dial, hands, crown and acrylic crystal are particularly well preserved, making this an appealing example for collectors who value originality rather than heavily restored vintage watches.

It is fitted with a period-correct New Old Stock Tropic Sport rubber strap, perfectly complementing the original diving character of the watch.

The movement runs strongly and the chronograph functions correctly.
